Scything and Haymaking in the Village
« Posted: 15 Jul 2016, 11:37:54 »
Its time to cut the wildflower meadow at the Village Field.!

We have around an acre to sort out and we will be cutting as much as possible with scythes.
All welcome - come along and try your hand with a scythe and also help out with the raking off. This is vital as part of the management process for the meadow, to develop it for future years.
Sorry but children will not be able to use the scythes.

We will also be finishing off laying the woodchip on the path, ready for the summer holidays, and rolling the paths as well, so lots to do !

Meet on the field anytime after 10am on 30th July. We should be around until 1 or 2pm depending on numbers.

As usual, please let me know if you are thinking of coming - wildplaces@transitionkingscliffe.org.uk

* * Note that the previous Saturday - 23rd July - we will be making a start with active scythemen (or women :) ). If you have some experience or have your own scythe, then please come along on 23rd and help get the bulk cut. 10am start again.
