SWMBO found this snippet about Kings Cliffe Endowed School's Head Mistress collecting plants for medicine in the First World War.

Interesting sound clip, thanks for posting this link. We collected rose-hips at my Gloucestershire Primary School, believe part of a national scheme for producing vitamin C syrup to help improve children's health after WWII.
