Wildplaces Maltings Green project is underway!
« Posted: 21 Jul 2015, 09:02:00 »
BIG NEWS!

We have the go ahead from the Parish Council for Phase 1 of the Maltings Green Project.

This means we can get started on clearing a lot of the overgrowth, brambles etc etc, and also clearing out part of the bog for the spring to flow again :)
The objective is to open up more of the area for people to enjoy, and increase the mix of habitats to encourage more wildlife to share it!

Next Sunday 26th July will be the first workparty and we need AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to come along from 10.30am, meeting at the village hall car park.
If you can't make it for 10.30am, then come along when you can.
Depending on weather etc, we could be at it all day!
(and Sunday teas are on from 2pm in the village hall as well...)

I know some people will be away but please please please, whether you have joined us before or not, if you can make it then do put the date in your diary.

Sorry, but this will not be appropriate for young children as there will be a lot of sharp tools around, and thorny stuff to fall into!
There will be opportunity later for children to get involved in planting wild flowers, building insect habitats, and other stuff!

Tools list - Please bring any of the following you can :
Slasher
Bow saw
Pruning saw
Loppers
Secateurs
Spade
Fork
Rake
Wheelbarrow
Gloves (absolute must!)
Water/snacks :)

Please let me know if you can make it.
