Transition Wildplaces - Workparty 24th May
« Posted: 13 May 2015, 08:00:52 »
Following our first 'flash' workparty a couple of weeks back, and the litter pick/walk activity last Sunday, the next Wildplaces workparty is scheduled for Sunday 24th May, 10.30am until we've had enough!

Its back in the railway cutting and will be a muddy one, as we want to have a go at 'rerouting' the stream which is now flowing in the bottom of the cutting, and possibly hunt for further drain holes.
We also want to have another look at the path we cut last time, as one section is still a bit soft underfoot and it may be sensible to recut it higher up the bank....
Lastly, the new path nearer the Willow Lane end could do with a bit more nettle clearance.

All welcome, although not really appropriate for younger children this time :(

Kit Recommendations - any of the following

Old clothes!
Gloves
Bottle of water
Sandwich if you're staying over lunchtime!
Wellies
Spade
Rake
Pruning saw / secateurs
Grass hook

Meet up at Kingsmead entrance to the cutting at 10.30am.
Please let me know on email if you're coming, so I can advise of any change of plan!
