Internet scam

Recently phoned by a guy who said he was calling from Windows Technical Dept. about reports that my computer had picked up malicious software. He offered to help identify and remove this malware and then clean up my system. Suspecting a scam I asked him to call again later. Quick internet checks showed this scam allows the 'helper' to trawl personal data often including card details by way of payment for their 'help' in removing the supposed malware. When 'Windows' called back I showed him the Door
First time I had experienced this particular scam.
Beware!

Sadly people, including some in this village, do get taken in by these gits... that's why they keep doing it
At least you saw through it before letting them furtle with your PC.

Microsoft pledge that they never, every telephone anyone re their products! Just put the phone down the minute they ask if you are having problems with Windows, it has been going on for years.
