It's been reset to factory defaults and a few free books from the Project Gutenberg loaded. You can, of course, register it to your Amazon account to buy more Ebooks or load freebies via the USB connection.
There's no charger with the unit but it's a normal micro-usb charging connection so a normal mobile charger will work or you can charge it from your PC's USB socket.
