Free music taster sessions
« Posted: 11 Apr 2014, 11:14:35 »
Learn To Play Day was set up by Music For All to encourage everyone to get involved and potentially take their first steps to becoming the musicians they've always wanted to be. There are over 100 venues across the country offering free introductory lessons on a variety of instruments, either for beginners or as a refresher.

Come to Nepenthe Studios in Kings Cliffe on 12th April for an amazing music learning experience.  Try your hand at any of these instruments - drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, or vocal sessions.  At least 3 professional tutors will be on hand to provide advice and free short lessons.  A variety of instruments will also be available for you to look at and try out -  percussion courtesy of Mad About Drums:  guitars, PA and keyboard from Ashtons, courtesy of Musicforce Distribution.

Discount vouchers providing at least 10% reductions will be available toeveryone attending this day, for both instrument purchase and on bookings for lessons.

To help us run the day smoothly, and to save yourself time in case it is busy and you have to wait to see a tutor, please book atimed session with us by calling the studio on 01780 470826, or email info@nrs.uk.net

Great to see this in the village - I'm not musical at all but still have dreams!  Sadly just back from holiday so couldn't attend but hopefully you'll do this again.  Hope it was a great success

It wasn't hugely busy on the day, but we saw some locals turning up - thanks to them.
We may run the event again next year, if we could only persuade the local papers to print something about it.  Disappointingly we only had a couple of small short paragraphs hidden in a page of text so I doubt anyone saw them.
Still, in the meantime if anyone is looking to help in learning an instrument, you're very welcome to come down to the studio at any time.
