Burghley Estates might know. Many years ago a friend of mine looked at it as a storage facility for fireworks but the rent they wanted was close to £250,000 a year! I keep seeing a bit of activity there so something must be happening.

Re. Former bomb dump. The last that KC Parish Council heard was that it was to be used 'for data storage'. Burghley Estates/Cecil Family Trust are said to have paid for the recent highway alterations to give improved access. Many others have expressed concern about its close proximity to Augean's landfill. Previously it was cited as a lorry park adjacent to the A47. Informally an NCC Planning Officer welcomed this idea stating such parking was badly needed along the A47. 'Data storage' would seem somewhat quieter and offer less heavy traffic movements.
