Re-Future of the Post Office
« Posted: 25 Sep 2012, 16:39:01 »
We,Angela and Barry have run our business in King's Cliffe for over 40 years,we have also had the Post Office since Mr Sharpe retired 35 years ago.Over the years we have seen many changes with the Post Office, most of them to try and close it down but we have fought tooth and nail to keep it open. However now is the time for us to retire. We want to stay in our house at 1 West Street so we have negotiated a deal with the Post Office by which we can stay in our own property, and the Post Office will stay in the Village. The Post Office will advertise the business on their Website to find an alternative operator. When or if any sutible person is found there will be a 6 week period of public consultation on the proposed relocation. When a new location is found, then and only then we will hand in our notice. If a new operator is not found then we would have to look at selling our business as a going concern, this would mean us losing our house which we do not really want to do,but will if needs must.

Kind Regards Angie and Barry.

I'm sure it will all work out the way you want it to and please don't even think about leaving your lovely home.  I'm sure everyone joins me in thanking you for your dedication to the village for all these years - whatever happens, it won't be the same without you Ange, behind the desk!   ;)

Good luck to you both - can't believe where that time has gone though.  Here's to the same again in your eventual retirement.
